Villa Apomera, Kalamitsi - Lefkas
Apomera is the Greek for solitude, an appropriate name for this villa situated between sea and mountain on Lefkada’s magnificent West coast. Set in olive groves and cypress woods, but by no means remote. Located near the unspoilt hill village of Kalamitsi, Villa Apomera is close to the picturesque resort of Agios Nikitas and the magnificent beaches of Milos and Kathisma.
Greece is famous for the clarity and colours of its sea and landscapes, from the villa’s balconies and terraces you must be able to see more shades of blue than anywhere on the rest of the planet. Out to sea there is nothing except a thin line in the far distance where sky and ocean meet, whilst towards the North beyond the ridge, green Paxos, fringed by white cliffs and the mountains of the Pindos range, break the horizon bringing together the sensational sunsets.
Planted terraces and traditional walls line the approach and a small terrace area surrounds the back door. Immediately in front is a broad stone-flagged terrace, raised above the hillside and swimming pool. A modern version of the traditional “fournos” or oven with barbecue is located to one side. A shaded veranda runs along the whole of the front of the house giving access to a large living room with fireplace, comfortable furniture, satellite television and a single sofa bed. The spacious kitchen is well equipped and there is a downstairs shower room. Upstairs there is a double and a twin bedroom, each with french doors leading onto a shaded balcony with those glorious views. A spacious bathroom with jacuzzi completes the accommodation.
The West coast beaches are all within driving distance. Traditional island food, in unspoilt surroundings, can be found in a choice of tavernas in Kathisma, Kalamitsi and the surrounding areas. Your stay at Villa Apomera has all the ingredients for a memorable holiday.
