Villa Spiros, Nr Fiskardo - Kefalonia
In the endearingly traditional village of Antipata, the scene most likely to present itself is that of the orthodox priest going about his daily business around the main square or the villagers swapping news at the local mini market. Only a five minute stroll from this tiny centre of activity is the setting of Villa Spiros.
This three bedroom house, set in the hamlet of Markandonata, has been thoughtfully designed. Great care has been taken to ensure that the building blends into the landscape; even the swimming pool has been designed so that the pool side does not detract from the horizon.
Villa Spiros has its own distinctive character. The air-conditioned rooms are all on ground level, apart from the master bedroom, which is elevated above the rest of the house. This room, with en suite bathroom, leads out onto its own sun terrace. On the ground floor is a shower room and two twin bedrooms which provide access, via French doors, to a shaded terrace. There is an open-plan kitchen and living area, which is spacious and equipped with everything you need for preparing meals. The barbecue and seating area divides Spiros from its neighbour, Villa Gerassimos, ensuring that the swimming pool and terrace are private. The garden has its own olive tree to provide additional shade, surrounded by a colourful mixture of native plants and flowers.
Spiros faces west and looks out across a wooded landscape to the sea, making it a perfect vantage point from which to enjoy the magnificent Kefalonian sunsets.
