Fairmont Sirru Fen Fushi, Maldives - Maldives
Fairmont Maldives is an island of superlatives: the longest infinity pool in the Maldives, one of the largest resort lagoons, and some of the most unique accommodation you’ll find in this part of the world. And yet it’s also remote, intimate and set on an entirely natural island, unlike many other Maldivian resorts. Highlights include a private pool for every villa, fantastic fitness and spa facilities, a feet-in-the-sand castaway vibe, and warm waters teeming with marine life.
Airport Transfer55 minutes by seaplane.
LocationOn a private island in the outlying Shaviyani Atoll, 55 minutes by seaplane from Malé international airport.
AccommodationThere are 120 overwater, beach and safari-style tented villas spread around the island, offering up to three bedrooms and each with a private plunge pool and the services of a personal Villa Host available 24 hours a day. The style is a subtle blend of Maldivian tradition and contemporary beach chic, and there is ample space both inside and out, with your own private terrace or garden, an indoor-outdoor bathroom and an airy sala for dining and relaxation. All villas include TV with movies on demand, complimentary WiFi, Bose sound system, Nespresso machine, wine fridge, resort bicycles and in-room safe. Overwater villas have an oversized copper bathtub, while the unique Tented Jungle Villas look like nothing else we’ve seen in the Maldives.
Restaurants And BarsThe social hub of the resort is the Balinese-style Onu Onu, where you can enjoy laid-back drinks and unbeatable Indian Ocean views. Raha Market is the main all-day restaurant, with an enticing buffet and individual chef stations serving traditional Maldivian and Asian cuisine. Japanophiles can get their fix of sushi, sashimi and robata yaki at Kata, while Azure specialises in creative seafood dishes, with a lovely lagoon-front setting. The resort can also arrange in-villa dining or a romantic private dinner on a secluded stretch of beach.
Meal PlansBreakfast Half Board Full Board All-Inclusive
FacilitiesThe eye-catching infinity pool leads to the Coralarium, a unique combination of underwater art installation and coral regeneration project. The Fairmont Spa includes a 50-metre serenity pool, 8 couples’ treatment rooms and a salon, and you can enjoy guided meditation in the spa gardens or yoga sessions overlooking the Indian Ocean. There is also a fitness centre, floodlit tennis court and watersports including snorkelling, diving and sailing, along with kids’ and teens’ clubs to keep younger guests entertained and engaged with their natural surroundings.
