Chateau Saint-Martin & Spa, Vence - France
This superb Relais & Châteaux hotel is located in the hills outside Vence, surrounded by lavender fields and with spectacular views towards the Mediterranean. This was once the former residence of the Knights Templar and is renowned as one of the most historical addresses in southern France.
The hotel has 36 luxurious junior suites, each with a private terrace, and six Provençal style villas (bastides) located in the private gardens. Lunches are served by the open-air heated swimming pool at the 'L'Oliveraie' and in the evening delicious dinners can be enjoyed in the famous gastronomic restaurant, 'Le Saint-Martin' or in the less formal brasserie, Le 180°. There is a luxurious 'Spa le Saint-Martin by La Prairie' and two clay tennis courts and you can take walks in the hills or drive to nearby St. Paul-de-Vence to visit the museums of Picasso and Chagal.
