Cruise

The cruise market has grown tremendously in recent years. Ships come in all sizes, from the huge family orientated fun ships, with skating rinks, climbing walls and wave machines, to small intimate ships – generally more suited to couples and singles. These are wonderful for reaching smaller places with harbours inaccessible to the large ships.

The classic transatlantic crossing is very popular – allowing for leisurely days at sea whilst being treated to glorious meals and great entertainment. Many cruises, especially in the Mediterranean and Baltic, are destination focused, with only one or two days at sea. This gives passengers the chance to visit lots of different cities and resorts, without the need for constant packing and unpacking, as the ship is your floating hotel.

Expedition cruising is an easy way to travel to areas of the world which may have been deemed inaccessible a few years ago. It is now possible to visit Svalbard, Antarctica and Galapagos Islands all from the comfort of your ship.

River cruising has also become more popular in recent years and many of the new river ships are luxurious. This is a wonderful way to explore – as rivers were the original highways so there is always plenty to see from the river. The river ships can also dock in city centres with a short stroll into the heart of the town , making life very easy .
