Antigua

We visited Antigua to escape the ever darkening days of December pre the inevitable Christmas mayhem, enjoyed fabulous weather and returned relaxed a la Caribbean mode.

Antigua has a proliferation of great up-market hotels but we were seduced
by the reputation of the Blue Waters Hotel as in addition to being a lovely hotel it had a great reputation for food lovers. We weren’t disappointed as the dining experience was incredible and Bartleys Restaurant prepared the best lobster which quickly became a firm favourite. We opted for the all-inclusive option which we thought was excellent value and in addition to some motorised water sports included all meals, wines/spirits and a stocked mini-bar.
Family run Blue Waters is situated on a beautiful white sandy bay with gorgeous tropical gardens and comfortable luxury accommodation from where we swam and snorkelled in crystal clear waters. Since our visit Blue Waters has added super luxury hilltop Cove suites in clusters of four with each cluster having its own infinity edge pool and access to the exclusive Cove restaurant.

There’s lots to do in Antigua – visit Nelsons Dockyard – enjoy the view from Shirley Heights – go horse riding on the beach or simply chill out and enjoy a taste of paradise!
